At Simmons Perrine PLC, community support isn’t just part of our history—it’s at the heart of what we believe.
We share a deep commitment to strengthening our community in Cedar Rapids and across Iowa—supporting more than 100 community organizations. We believe meaningful impact happens when businesses, nonprofits, and neighbors come together with shared purpose.
That’s why we proudly support and partner with a wide range of local organizations dedicated to advancing education, the arts, health and wellness, environmental stewardship, youth development, and so much more. From volunteer initiatives and sponsorships to board service and community events, our involvement reflects our commitment to building and sustaining the community we proudly call home.
We proudly support this United Way initiative, including volunteering for the UW Day of Caring. In 2025, we joined nearly 60 organizations and 1,600 volunteers to assist such honored organizations as Tanager Place, St. John of the Cross, Catholic Worker House, and the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance.
We’re proud to help prepare care packages and provide a meal to the patients at the Russell and Ann Gerdin American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in Iowa City. This day is dedicated to the late Iowa Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Cady and his commitment to public service, access to justice, and civil rights.
Each year, our events committee plans special events for our firm – including a fall festival. As part of the festival, we had a flannel and jeans day. Participants gave $5 to wear jeans. The participant names were thrown into a hat, and the winner designated where the donation dollars went. We often do these fundraisers and have given to homeless shelters, soup kitchens, animal shelters, and much more.
Iowa Legal Aid provides free legal services to low-income families. Our attorneys support this organization through volunteer opportunities, board membership and financial assistance. We also enjoy supporting them at their annual Equal Justice Day in the Corridor celebration.
The Simmons Perrine PLC Team has proudly participated in the Mercy Medical Center Especially for You® Race Against Breast Cancer in Cedar Rapids. The Race supports free mammograms and breast care services to individuals in need.
Our attorneys work closely with and support the initiatives of Kids First – An organization located in Cedar Rapids, that gives children a voice in divorce, custody, and other conflicts by providing focused legal representation and services for kids.
