Simmons Perrine PLC is pleased to announce that attorney John R. Rigby has joined the firm’s Cedar Rapids office, where his practice will focus on commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and real estate matters.
A native of Marion, Iowa, Rigby earned his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. While at UCLA, he held numerous leadership positions within the law school community. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, with distinction, from the University of Iowa, where he served as Undergraduate Student Government President and received the prestigious Hancher-Finkbine Medallion Award, one of the university’s highest honors recognizing leadership, scholarship, and service.
Prior to joining Simmons Perrine, John gained valuable in-house legal experience with two Las Vegas-based companies, including serving as corporate counsel for a luxury resort and gaming company. He also practiced with law firms in California, where he represented clients in mergers and acquisitions, business litigation, and other commercial matters.
